Recipes

TEQUILA MEATBALLS

Miami is such a cosmopolitan city that almost every culture's food is well represented here. A Swedish friend served me this dish at her South Beach apartment once, and I couldn't help to include here. I revised her meatball recipe and created this original fusion.

INGREDIENTS :

Meatballs:

 

  • 1 lb. lean ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup PAN corn meal, (can substitute with Italian bread crumbs)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 finely chopped jalapeño pepper

 

Sauce for cooking meatballs:

  • 2 Mexican beers
  • 1/2 cup of relish
  • 1/4 cup of tequila
  • 1 jar of chili relish

INSTRUCTIONS :

Combine ground turkey, parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs and egg to form meatballs. In a separate bowl, mix the beer, tequila, chili sauce and relish to prepare sauce. Simmer meatballs in sauce for 30 minutes. Serve with toothpicks sitting in sauce.
